Your goal is to have the best possible measure for use in the other projects for this client.
2. Your client believes it will be helpful to have a 3-hour workshop that will be delivered to their new hires after they are selected but before they start. Importantly, they want to have evidence of its effectiveness before committing to its use. They want you to develop/design the workshop. You can think of this workshop as an independent variable- describe the steps you would follow to ensure that it also has construct validity.
3. (Assume you have evidence from the study in question 2 above that your workshop has construct validity, and they now want to implement it with newly hired employees. They have given you permission to randomly assign all new hires from across the country to either receive the workshop or participate in a different 3-hour workshop. They also will allow you to survey the employees from both groups after they have been working for three months, the goal being to determine if your intervention workshop increases favorable employee outcomes and decreases unfavorable outcomes for new employees related to COVID. These outcomes include those assessed with your PWCC measure, but also you can include other outcomes. What features will be important for your alternative workshop (in terms of content)? Describe the data you would examine (but not statistical tests) to determine if the workshop is effective. And discuss why random assignment is critical to your conclusions- describe how it eliminates one specific possible alternative explanation (you chose which alternative) for evidence of workshop effectiveness that might exist if you were not able to randomly assign and could only compare results from different geographical regions.
