RESEARCH OBJECTIVES -

• To assess whether it is the dose-response relationship between alcohol consumption and liver cirrhosis or a threshold exists.
• To assess whether the alcohol consumption contributes more for morbidity or mortality due to liver cirrhosis.
• To assess the knowledge gap in the association between alcohol consumption and liver cirrhosis.

Knowledge Gap -

• Several studies have been done that show the association between alcohol and liver cirrhosis but still whether or not mean population-level consumption is related to population-level cancer mortality is still not clear (Jiang et al.,2017).
• There is no evidence that shows consistent dose-risk relationship between alcohol and liver cirrhosis (Turati et al.,2014).
• Studies have shown the association between both but there is no evidence that shows the steps taken to decrease the mortality rate by alcohol by putting labels (Injurious to health) on the alcohol bottles as done on the cigarette packets.

METHODS AND METHODOLOGY -

Systematic review offers an approach to critically appraise the already available evidence and also help to find knowledge gaps for future references (Nguyen et al.,2018).
