In this assessment, you will be asked to:
1. Briefly describe a recent health promotion or program/campaign.
2. Identify the framework and/or model of health the program/campaign employs.
3. Identify evidence from the literature that supports this framework and/or model of health in this context.
4. Identify key concepts of the health promotion framework and/or model that the campaign uses.
Assessment 2: Written task
Written task requiring students to demonstrate knowledge by writing a grant application to extend an existing health promotion program.
The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program is successful, established program at several local schools. The community health service now wishes to expand the program into the broader community, and is looking to apply for a VicHealth Social Innovation for Health Equity program grant. As the Health Promotion Officer, you are asked to prepare a grant application for an expansion of the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden program to reach different group(s) in the community. Your grant application should outline:
(i) the scientific background for the expansion/intervention, aims, methods (description of different group, the perspective of the community group, description of the expansion, evaluation framework(s) to be used), staffing for project delivery, and proposed budget.
(ii) how the expansion/intervention will reduce health inequity
(iii) how you will incorporate the use of Photovoice as an innovative way of understanding the community group’s point of view, into the methods
Assessment 3: Written task
Students are asked to reflect on what they have learned in the unit and how it may change their practice.
In the unit you have explored the Fundamentals of Health Promotion, Ethics and evidence, Health Promotion Practice, communication in health promotion, cross cultural health promotion, evaluating health promotion programs and challenges in health promotion. Please post a discussion post of ?300 words in which you:
a) list two concepts that were particularly interesting to you and explain in detail what you learnt about. Reflect on the extent to which unit content relates to existing knowledge/skills.
b) list at least one concept that is still unclear to you and that you intend to explore further. Please ensure that your discussion post includes at least two references.
2) In addition, please post two peers responses. These are replies to other students discussion postings in a way that contributes constructively to the class discussion. For example, you might disagree with a point, ask a clarifying question, or provide additional support for a position taken in the
