PROBLEM STATEMENT
You are to analyze the safety of Pulley-Support Assembly (Fig. 1) using ANSYS. The Pulley is rotating at 2750 rpm to transmit a 4.5 kW of power:
o The Support is made from Cast Iron - Grade 60.
o The Shaft is machined from AISI 4140 OQT 700 steel.
o The Sleeve is made from C5100 Bronze and lightly press-fit into the Support.
o All other parts are made from regular structural steel


INSTRUCTIONS
CATIA may only be used to create a solid model for the Support. However, the solid model for other parts must be created and assembled within ANSYS.
• All contacts must be carefully set.
• Obtain a good mesh for the assembly without slowing down the solution process.

Include an ISO figure of the meshed assembly, for the ANSYS report
• The external loads and the proper supports must be carefully assigned.
• Obtain the stress in the Support.
