This assessment comprises two tasks, as explained below. You must complete both Tasks to receive a mark. If you do not complete either or both Tasks, your submission will be marked with 0%.

Minutes Recorded Presentation

You are an OHS advisor sponsored by your business to study for a post-graduate OHS qualification at QUT. Management has asked you to create a pre-recorded PowerPoint presentation about a specific case shared as a chapter in the Safety Insights book (attached below). Your goal is to offer critical insights and lessons from the analysis of the particular case that could be useful for your organisation. The recording will be shared with various stakeholders and needs to cover the following points (about 2-3 slides per point):

a. A brief description of one of the two cases the chapter shares.

b. A critical evaluation and interpretation of the main theories, concepts, strategies, standards and best practices shared in the particular case.

c. A critical commentary on whether the case reflects a systems approach to effective and sustainable safety management.

d. What additional aspects you would improve in this case to demonstrate increased inclusivity of diverse perspectives and promote a culturally and psychologically safe environment.

e. How you would investigate, analyse and evaluate information to support the improvement of the aspects you identified in point 1d above.

Minutes Recorded Video

Management requested a separate video explaining your approach to analysing the specific case and providing evidence of utilising resources from QUT and elsewhere. Management believes this video will be extremely useful for other professionals undertaking similar tasks. More specifically, your video must cover concisely the following points (about one minute recording/point):

a. How you went about researching the assignment - the steps you followed.

b. What websites, search engines, key terms, and/or databases you used to research the assignment. You must provide an example by sharing your computer screen and demonstrate how you used keywords to identify sources in a specific database.

c. How you evaluated the credibility of the databases you accessed and the sources you used.

d. Provide examples of how you used two publications from the list of your references to populate content for your presentation. While recording, you must share your screen to show the downloaded/accessed documents and explain which part(s) of them and how you transferred to your presentation.
