Question: Come up with a puzzle that you would like to research, analyse, and explain to your reader.Once you've established your puzzle and how you will approach it, it's time for you to embark on your research, analysis, and writing. 1.Establish the puzzle you want to address: email your unit convenor, call them, or meet them in person to discuss. 2.Research: this is a research essay. Your aim here is to search for, read, understand, and critique literature related to the puzzle you've chosen.You must use the university library.Who's saying what ?What's the main argument about? Where's the discussion heading? Has anyone tried to solve the puzzle? Have they succeeded in your opinion? If not, why not?  And so on. 3.Analysis: once you've completed your research you'll need to make sense of it. What can you use to make your argument? What further research might you need to conduct to deepen your argument? 4.Writing: once you've got the structure of your argument in place (maybe you've made a visual of it) it's time to write it up . It's crucial that your reader understand your argument. Your emphasis here is to write clearly, to tell the reader what the puzzle is, how you're making an argument about it, and why that matters.
