This will be provided to you in Week 1 of the semester. Your task will be to conceptualise the case from ONE theoretical perspective (there will be 2 options to choose from), and to design, present and justify an assessment regime for the case based on this theoretical perspective. Your assessment regime should consist of four questionnaires or other assessment methodologies (e.g. a diary). The assessment regimes must consist of questionnaires or other assessment methodologies that have received substantial empirical/research attention. Each questionnaire/method must be accessible by the marker (but does not need to be appended to your case study submission – you will need to provide an online library link or DOI). You will be asked to analyse the validity, reliability, and feasibility of the assessment regime, and to discuss ethical issues relating to the assessment regime.

This case study is not intended to be a highly formulaic and rigidly structured document that has one ‘right way’ of tackling it. You should think of this as a theory and evidence-based creative piece of work rather than a prescriptive lab report.

Guidance on writing up of this piece of assessment will occur in class (both in lectures and tutorials) and a guide to the assignment is on the Blackboard site under ‘assessment’. You will need to attend all classes to best understand assessment methods and measures arising from core personality theoretical approaches (although lectures are scheduled to be recorded). The report will be 1800 words (with a 10% word count maximum variation, word count does not include title page or reference list) and will be formatted according to APA 7th edition guidelines).
