Look on-line for a spectacular project failure. But choose one which has sufficient technical assessment of the failings and enough information concerning the development of those failings over time such that you can design a risk management system (using your risk management notes and literature) that would have identified those failings at an early stage and suggest how that risk management system could evolve and change for the project.

Note

When answering this assignment, the marker will be looking for demonstration of your understanding of the issues involved and how they are applied in the real world. Clarity of argument and presentation are also important and will attract marks. Where possible students are expected to introduce aspects of their own personal or professional work experience. Also remember – only make a statement unless it is substantiated by a reference unless you are using a series of these references statements to postulate.
