Background

This case study is designed to highlight the workflow of a quantitative analyst in the domain of finance. The particular application is asset management, but the concepts and tools are applicable to a wide domain (e.g. corporate finance, real estate, etc..). These files will build successively through the term.

Our investable universe will be the DJIA-30. We will

1) Explore the data,

2) Explain the returns processes,

3) Forecast those returns,

4) Protect our funds by forming diversified portfolios.
