The purpose of this report is to contrast Australia's National Drug Strategy (NDS), which covers the years 2017 through 2026, with the national drug policy of the United States. The Ministerial Council on Drug Strategy (MCDS) was established in 1985 with the express objective of formulating and planning the NDS (Thomas, 2021). The United States of America is the subject of the comparative policy analysis, and the Office of National Drug Policy Control (ONDCP), which was founded in 1988, is the department in charge of managing the country's drug laws. The main objective of this report is to ascertain the impact of these variations in efficacy on significant performance measures. To achieve that, it will be investigated how techniques and policies have changed in order to identify and accurately compare their effectiveness. Both of the policies have a history that has contributed to significant changes in the drug use in both nations.
