This assignment will engage you in a review of scholarly literature on exemplary teaching. You will discuss key educational discourses related to working with families and diverse student and the links to high quality teaching for education birth to 12 years. You will develop an understanding of the importance of using contemporary literature to underpin the development of professional practice and identity. 1. Based on assessment 1 research, select two professional identify qualities and two teaching practices of exemplary teaching that you uncovered.
2. Search for relevant literature on the exemplary teaching aspects with a focus on a specific education context. 

3. Critically review the literature – what does the literature say about the four exemplary teaching aspects and how does it / doesn’t it relate to diverse learners?  What is the context of the research? What are the strengthens of the literature? Were there any limitations e.g. the population researched, the sample size, the context, the age group of participants, the background of participants, were children included in the research or only adults?

4. Identify and summarise the key arguments across the literature that you have reviewed. What are the main findings that you have discovered from the literature reviewed? This will require you to compare and contrast the literature to identify the similarities and the differences in what the literature is discussing. How does the literature relate to one another?  Be sure to review a wide range of literature sources (a minimum of 6 literature sources) and to write an integrated / synthesised discussion of your findings NOT a review of each literature source independently.

4. Critically think about the implications of what you have discovered – your key findings – what do the findings mean for the development of your own professional identity and practice working with diverse student groups. Give examples of how you will implement the findings in your future professional practice. What are the implications of utilising literature to support the development of your professional identity and practice with diverse student groups?
