IT Assignment Task Description :
1. One of the processes that need to be examined for the University of Perth is the existing RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) system. A student submits a claim for RPL to cover a unit in their course. The SIO handling the claim records the claim in the Callista application against the student record and also posts a message in the Online forms and workflow system. Within this Online forms system the request is forwarded to the concerned course coordinator who accesses callista, finds the student and then clicks the Documents Tab to view the enquiry. Within the Online forms system the course coordinator passes the enquiry on to the concerned unit coordinator who assesses the claim based on their knowledge of the unit and informs the course coordinator. If the claim is passed the claim is then passed to the University RPL committee who then decide finally if the claim is acceptable. If it is, the unit advanced standing is then recorded in the Callista application by the Student information officer and the student is advised.
2. Another part of the RPL accreditation process is the chance for the Student to appeal against the final decision. If they wish to appeal they must lodge their appeal with the University RPL committee. The committee will then review the decision and inform the student if the appeal is successful or not. A successful appeal will lead to the Student Record System requiring amendment. Add the required parts of the appeals process to your map
