Politics : Referencing and critical analysis assignment - Essay Assignment

Task :  You need to find one of each of the following types of source relevant to their chosen major essay:

•  A book with one or two authors
•  A chapter in an edited book
•  An academic, scholarly journal article
•  An on-line newspaper article

You must provide details of these according to one of the two referencing systems as outlined in the School of Political Science and International Studies' Essay Guide of the ECP for the link. This includes providing all the information for each reference, in the correct order, with the correct spacing and punctuation. Self-evidently, the Essay Guide is a critical tool for this task! Please place the references on a new page, at the end of the critical analysis. The discussion should include:

• A brief summary of the article's central argument and research findings
• An assessment of the merits and limitations of the research methodology
• In what way is it a new contribution to political science (eg is it a whole new thoery? does it apply an existing theory to Australia for the first time? etc)
• Explain how it sheds light on Australian politics today
• Some comment on how compelling your find the article overall.
