Feeling 

I feel that to be safe and to protect the lives of the patient we must improve the quality and consistency of the infection prevention and control practices.

Evaluation

Infection control practices are a vital component in the health care system which is designed to prevent hospital acquired infections. This program should be conducted by the health practitioners and should be implemented and assessed by the relevant person who is trained to lead the workshops (Organization, 2018). It is also important to carry out training for health care workers and students to understand the significance of infection control. All hospitals should support this program to prevent spread of hospital-acquired infections.

Analysis

I have realized that ICP is very much important in Australia health care system and this program has components that make it successful. The core components I have observed are IC programs, Guidelines, Education and training, Surveillance, Multimodal strategies, Monitoring, auditing and feedback (Organization, 2016). During my first shift I observed that the staffs strictly follow the preventive measures that usually start with hand hygiene followed by using appropriate PPE, waste disposal, cleaning and disinfection. I can also relate to the recent covid-19 pandemic and has taught everyone the importance of hygiene.
