Case Study: This research proposal is to find out the relationship between gender inequality and taxable income in Australia and also to compare gender gap in Australian Capital Territory(ACT) by choosing different fields of employment like accounting, finance, media etc. Objectives: Questions: 1. To find the difference between number of males and females in different types of sectors and industries. 2. To calculate the average taxable income of males and females according to different types of industry. 3. To find the difference between average taxable income of males and females according to different types of sector. Research Analysis: Under the dataset of individual taxable return table number 5, many variables are available like number of individuals, taxable income, Medicare levy, gross tax number, net tax and many others according to the different states and sectors of Australia. For the analysis, ACT is selected and under this all different types of industries are selected for the analysis of taxable income of male and female. The taxable income of male and female is divided by a number of male and female who file the tax for the purpose of calculation of average taxable income. The difference helps to analyze the inequality of male and female according to income. 4. Findings and analysis 4.1 Descriptive statistics Within Australian Capital Territory, around 19 different types of industries provide jobs to males and females. Here, the data is analyzed which industries are males dominant and which industries are female dominant on the basis of number of individuals working over there and file tax. According to the row 2 of above table, 14 industries are male dominant whereas 5 industries are female dominant. In the second part, the data is analyzed related to which industries have more female average income and which industries have more male average income. So, in ACT out of 19 industries, 17 industries have more male average income and there are only 2 industries which have more female average income. Question: What is the average taxable income of all the industries in ACT if males are doing work and if females are doing work? What is the difference in between?
