1. Download the Assignment 1 Data.xlsx file from TopHat. This is 6-hourly Wind Energy Generation (MWh) data of a hypothetical wind farm in Lautoka for the years 1979 to 2017 Manage.

2. Install relevant packages where applicable and write a working r-script to:

i) Import the excel file into the r platform.

ii) Convert the hourly data to daily averages and store it.

iii) Convert the daily averages to weekly averages of electricity demand and store it. was a Monday, so the weeks should commence on Monday and end on a Sunday with conventional 7-day weeks.

iv) Convert the daily averages to monthly averages of electricity demand and store it. Recall that each month has different set of days and also compensate for leap years.

v) Determine the statistics: mean, median, maximum, minimum, kurtosis, and skewness of each data set (i.e., 6-hourly data, weekly averages, monthly averages). You can use r to determine these statistics. Summarize the statistics in form of a table (in a word document) to be included in the write up.

vi) Prepare a time series plot for each data set (i.e., 6-hourly data, weekly averages, monthly averages). Include the time-series plots in your write up. Discuss the occurrences of any trends, seasonality, cyclic patterns or anomaly in the series

vii) Use hist() function to plot a histogram for each data set (i.e., 6-hourly data, weekly averages, monthly averages)

viii) On the same histogram, plot a Probability density function using the lines() function.

ix) Prepare a seasonal mass plot as shown below for the monthly data.

x) Prepare an autocorrelation function (ACF) plot for each of the datasets (i.e., 6- hourly data, weekly averages, monthly averages) up to 20 lags.
