Include the following in the report:
1. Target Section: This section should include the mechanism of action, the target of the drug, details about the disease area. Provide an illustration to support the discussion.
2. Discovery Section: This section should describe how the drug was discovered and details about structure activity relationship studies. Provide illustrations to support your discussion. Then discuss how the drug was synthesized during discovery phase - provide a scheme of the synthesis. (Refer to Lecture 4)
3. Process Development Section: This section should describe how the drug was scaled-up to make multi kilo quantities. Provide a scheme of the process. (Refer to Lecture 5/6).
4. Please pay attention to all the requirements of the assignment. Provide illustrations, schemes and structures where requested. Pay attention that the structures are visible and synthetic conditions are described properly.
5. If the scale-up route or structure activity relationship studies are not available then don’t pick that drug for the assignment. The selection of an appropriate drug that provides all the information required is part of the grade.
6. Provide all references at the end of the assignment. Provide the original reference articles separately.
