You will develop a list of the needs of key stakeholders, distil these into functional requirements in a Requirements Matrix, draw a Use Case Diagram and Class Diagram. You will also justify your designs in short descriptions accompanying each of these outputs.

Learning outcomes measured:

This assignment will assess your understanding of the material taught in weeks 1-3, your ability to apply what you have learnt to a particular business case, and communicate effectively through
your written and diagrammatic outputs (i.e. the matrix, diagrams and their accompanying descriptions).
The skills you will develop as part of this process will be useful when you move forward into your careers.

2. Read Case 1 (below) which pertains to all elements of this assignment.

3. Develop and document a list of needs for each of the key stakeholders. Aim for approximately 10 key needs for each stakeholder type.

4. Develop a Requirement Matrix to show the functional requirements of the new system based on the identified needs in step (3). In a few sentences, justify your choices (i.e. How/why did you decide to split the system into the modules you chose? How did you decide on priorities? Is there a particularly novel or unusual requirement that you have identified – if so, how does it meet the needs of your stakeholders? Etc.). Aim for:

a) 15 Essential Functional Requirements

5 Desirable Functional Requirements

You should include the above number for each priority of requirements, totalling atleast 21 Functional Requirements in your matrix. A small amount less or more may be ok depending on the quality of the ones you include, but you will need to stay around the number stated above.

5. Draw a Use Case Diagram detailing how a customer would use the new system to subscribe to the service (i.e., receive a particular box of produce every week). In a few sentences also explain your use case diagram. (i.e. what is it describing? At which points do users interface with the system? What is outside the scope of your diagram? Etc.)

6. Draw a Class Diagram for the new system described in Case 1:

d) Focus on the classes relevant to subscriptions, product search & selection, ordering, payments and customer details.

e) It may help to start by writing a description of the process that include the above elements in order to draw out the nouns.

f) Identify the classes related to the new system that are essential for the functionality of the new system in terms of the processes relevant to subscriptions, product search & selection, ordering, payments and customer details. Put these classes into your Class Diagram.

g) You need to mention two to four attributes and at least one operation/method for each class in the class diagram. You may want to experiment freely online with similar websites to the one proposed in this case to identify suitable attributes and operations/methods.

h) Show the correct relationships between classes (association, generalization, composition, aggregation) and include multiplicity for more than half of the relationships you draw (multiplicity may not make sense to include in all of the relationships in your diagram).

i) Out of all the classes in your diagram, pick four (4) that you think would most benefit from justification, and:
i) List some example instances of the class (objects)
ii) Explain your choice of attributes
iii) Explain the association(/s) of the class with other class(/es)
