You begin by identifying a specific topic in theatre history that interests you and falls within the time period the class covers (for example, you may look at stage technology in neoclassical theatre). The research question is pass/fail – you may be required to revise and resubmit it in order to move on to the next parts of the research project.

Part 2: Annotated Bibliography
Once your research question is approved, you will develop an annotated bibliography of research that will help you to answer your question. Your annotated bibliography will briefly summarize 5 secondary sources (scholarly book chapters or journal articles), and 3 primary sources (plays, images, drawings, or writing from the period).
