You are to produce a word policy brief (the reference list is NOT included in the word count). This policy brief should include the following:

• A critical analysis of the role of restorative justice conferencing (including theory and legislation) in addressing youth crime (in Queensland or elsewhere). Identify the usage and aims of the youth conferencing process and the restorative justice principles that underpin conferencing.
• Discuss the strengths and limitations of the approach in reducing youth crime; compare and contrast this with the effectiveness of criminal justice responses.
• Argue, using current evidence, why there is a need to change current policy on the use of restorative justice conferencing in addressing youth crime, (i.e., make recommendations).
• It is expected that you will refer to relevant literature, include empirical research to support your analysis (i.e., is the process successful here or elsewhere in reducing youth crime? Results?)
• Communicate information clearly and concisely; you may use headings; and use APA7 or Harvard style referencing. A minimum of ten (10) references are expected.
