3. The following sections must be fully completed on your LinkedIn Profile: 

• Professional Photo: You MUST upload a professional photo of yourself on your LinkedIn profile – dress in smart business attire. 

• Headline: Created a Catchy Title related to field of interest. Don’t just say for example; “Student at Russo Business School or Office Administrator.” (Student - Finance Major and Aspiring to be a Financial Analyst). 

• Summary – in one short paragraph, briefly describe for example what motivates you, what are you skilled at, provide any work experience/volunteer/apprenticeship/internship and what do you intend to do next and/or inspire to do in the future e.g. your career goal. 

• Experience – List your current job and also the jobs you held in the past (with details of the name of the company, the year & month you started working and left the company). Provide a brief description of your duties and responsibilities. If you have never worked before, you can provide relevant information such as volunteer/apprenticeship/internship work and/or class projects. 

• Education: List all your educational experience, including current & completed qualification, degree, specialization, training and years 

• Skills and Expertise: Add at least five (5) key skills – and then your connections can endorse you for the things you are best at. 

• Honours and Awards: If you have earned any special award or recognition in or out of school, list them here 

• Projects: if you have worked in team projects or whether you have led a team assignment in school, you can add them in this section. 

• Organisations: You have to join at least two (2) professional groups associated with your chosen field and other relevant organisation that you have an interest with on LinkedIn 

• Recommendations: You MUST have at least two (2) recommendations to the profile. Ask your managers or classmates who have worked with closely (e.g. at work or in class) to write a recommendation for you. This gives credibility to your strengths and skills. 

Task B - LinkedIn Short Report Evaluation - (RH1005)

Using a separate word document, write a minimum of 250 words short report evaluation and provide the following details in your report: 

1. What is LinkedIn and its purpose/function? 

2. How can LinkedIn assist you in your future career goals and professional networking activities? 

3. Provide a short description of the two (2) professional groups you have joined, for example the names of the groups/organisations and their background. Explain why you have joined these groups (e.g. how do they relate to your career/chosen field, what kinds of discussions/comments members of these groups are talking about). 

4. Research on LinkedIn website and identify some Personal Transferable Skills that are sought by employers that could assist you in your future employment. 

5. Please ensure you follow the short report format provided in class by your lecturer. It is to be word-processed; 1.5 line spacing, and fully referenced. All pages are to have Headers and/or Footers with your Name and Student ID number and Page Number. It should be free from spelling and grammatical errors. 

6. In term of Referencing – as you will be doing some research on LinkedIn, if you take your ideas from another author then you MUST acknowledge this otherwise you are committing a serious offence called plagiarism. Don’t just add reference sources in to your Reference List unless you actually referred to them in your short report evaluation. Please follow the APA referencing style. 

Each Group will need to: 

Task C – Group work - (RH1005)

1. Choose your team members and work in a group of 2-4 students (Please ensure you provide your group members details to your lecturer). 

2. Connect with at least two (2) students in your RH1005 class on LinkedIn. 

3. Engage with these two (2) students by messaging them using LinkedIn message tool discussing about your chosen career field, groups you have recently joined on LinkedIn, your current job status and any other professional conversations matter related to LinkedIn. 

4. Add a recommendation on at least two (2) students LinkedIn profile. You must use printscreen and copy your messages on a word document so that I can see your evidence. See further information into the “iLearn Structure for submission”.
