Highlights
Task 1: RIPv2
On all routers:
Create a RIPv2 routed network that will allow full connectivity for the following networks also seen in Figure 2. You will need to create a converged system from the following networks. (1 mark) 192.168.0.0/24 172.16.0.0/24 1.0.0.0/24 2.0.0.0/24 3.0.0.0
Do not add the 99.0.0.0/24 network seen in Figure 2 to RIPv2.
Add a loopback interface to Windermere, using the following commands
enable / configure terminal / interface Loopback0 /ip address 99.0.0.1 255.255.255.0 / no shutdown
On Windermere, you must complete the following configuration:
Create a default route that points from Windermere via the Lo0 interface. (1 mark)
Inject the default route into the RIPv2 network on Windermere. (1 mark)
On Coniston and Grasmere, you must:
Ensure that 172.16.0.1 and 192.168.0.1 are passive interfaces. (1 mark)
Test connectivity from Coniston or Grasmere to Windermere by pinging 99.0.0.1. (1 mark if successful)
Complete a ‘show ip route’ command from Coniston.
Task 2: Router on a stick
You will need to adapt the configuration on Grasmere and configure Derwent to complete this task. On Grasmere, remove the IP address configuration for Gi0/1, but do not shutdown the interface. If this step is not completed, you may encounter problems with your configuration. As you are able to see this pack in advance, the number of VLSM subnets will not be disclosed until the day of the day school to the entire group. Different groups within each day school will have different values to work with at the discretion of the day school instructor, who will be guided by the module team.
On Grasmere:
Create two sub interfaces for VLANs 10 and 20. (1 mark)
Using VLSM, split 172.16.0.0/24 into (undisclosed number of) further subnets. VLAN 10 will be in Subnet 0, VLAN 20 will be in Subnet 1. Create suitable interface IP addresses and subnet masks to reflect this configuration requirement. (3 marks)
Enable dot1q trunking for each sub interface. (1 mark)
On Derwent:
Create VLANS 10 and 20. (1 mark)
Associate interfaces 6-10 with VLAN 10. (1 mark)
Associate interfaces 11-15 with VLAN 20. (1 mark)
Enable dot1q trunking for VLAN’s 10 and 20 via Fa0/5. (1 mark)
Working on PC3 as per Figures 1 and 2: Connect PC3 to Fa0/11 and give it an IP address within Subnet 1, Ping from PC3 to 99.0.0.1. (1 mark)
Task 3: Standard ACLs
To accomplish this task, work must be completed entirely on Grasmere. You must create a single standard ACL to:
Stop all devices on the local network (represented by PC0) from pinging Subnet 0 (VLAN 10) on Grasmere. (2 marks)
Allow all devices on the local network to ping Subnet 1 (VLAN 20) on Grasmere. (2 marks)
Prove this by pinging each subnet on Grasmere. (1 mark, dependent on Task 2)
Note: as you have been issued a specific number of subnets in Task 2, you will be unable to prove that this task works (by pinging) unless Task 2 is operational. However, you can still configure the ACL and gain marks.
Task 4: NAT
Add NAT to the Grasmere router.
Add a Loopback0 interface (see Task 1 for how this can be accomplished) and give it an IP address of 10.0.0.1 255.255.255.0. (1 mark)
Add the 10.0.0.0 network to the RIPv2 routing protocol on Grasmere, (1 mark)
The entire 10.0.0.0/24 network must be overloaded on s0/0/1 only.* (3 marks)
Task 5: DHCP
Add DHCP to the Coniston router, where:
PC0 is changed to receive a DHCP address. (1 mark)
The DHCP pool must issue the Gi0/0 interface address as the default router. (1 mark)
The subnet mask is 255.255.255.0 for all devices. (1 mark)
The DNS address issued is 33.66.99.123
PC0 is still able to ping 99.0.0.1.
