Task: Overview This document outlines the first assignment to be completed for the Data Visualization module. Description/Goal For this assignment you are required to produce clear and effective visual representations (e.g. mockups, charts, graphs, etc.) of a given dataset. The dataset presents the penalty points received by drivers in Ireland according to the stats released by the Road Safety Authority In particular, the dataset summarizes the number of drivers who received penalty points between July and December 2016 inclusive, and presents a breakdown by the number of penalty points and by county. The dataset is available on our module’s Moodle page, in .xls format, and is titled CA1_dataset.zip. Deliverables You are required to: 1. Create visual representations of the given dataset for the six months, namely July – December 2016. 2. Write a report which includes and documents all the visual representations you created for this assignment. The report should contain: 1. Between 6 to 10 visual representations (the more representations the better) 2. Each visual representation of the dataset should be documented to reflect: 3. The information you are trying to communicate 4. The motivation and justification for choosing a particular type of mockup/chart/graph 5.
