The following data was assessed when Robert was admitted to the ward:

• Shortness of breath exacerbated on minimal exertion e.g. standing out of bed
• Faint crackles audible over the right middle lobe
• Pale in colour

Objective data:

• Respiratory rate: 33/minute
• SaO2: 88% Room air
• Chest X-Ray: Consolidation Right middle lobe
