You will be given two scenario questions:

You are to write a response to the two scenario questions. Include in your response an analysis of the management of the scenarioincorporating theoretical concepts and principles and the relationship to nursing practice, reasoning and presentation of rationales.


Scenario One - Transition in scope of practice from student to Registered Nurse:
For this scenario you are required to identify how your Scope of Practice will change from a student nurse to a Registered Nurse when managing a deteriorating patient. In addition, how will you manage this change? 


Scenario Two - Delegation:
This is an AM/Early shift. You are a Registered Nurse (RN). You are working in a clinical area that uses Team Nursing as the model of care. You and an experienced (RN) have been allocated to 8 patients. The RN, who is the team leader, has voiced her displeasure at having a “Junior”, and that she will probably end up doing all the work. The RN decides that she will do all the medications and you are to begin with vital signs. After 45mins one of the patient calls you to inform you that they are still waiting for their insulin medication and their breakfast is getting cold. You approach the RN who tells you “I’m busy”. How do you manage this situation?
