It is well documented that when learning disabilities are not addressed, students become disruptive and display maladaptive behaviour. This may have been the reason why he did not return to school. Furthermore, the fact that he is basically left to make decisions on his own suggests that parental guidance was possibly weak, or his disrespect for parental authority was severe.
