There will be a range of scenario-based case studies offered for this assessment. You will choose one of the scenarios to engage with.
Each scenario will outline the service needs of a community, as identified by the community. This will include a request by the community for service provision support. Your task is to describe how you would respond to the needs of the community from the perspective of an individual professional service provider or the executive representative of an organisation.
In doing this you will need to present your response plan via the following general headings in the sequence in which they appear.
How clearly do I understand the needs of this community as they have been identified? What further education or other support do I feel I need to have a clear understanding? (200 words)
Are there any current policies that support and guide my interaction with this community? What are those policies and how do they support community engagement? (200 words)
What broader practice approaches do I feel are most relevant to supporting a successful engagement and working relationship with this community around their identified needs? (500 words)
Once my understanding of the community needs are clear what will my first actions be in making contact with the community? Why have I chosen this approach? (300 words)
What do I see as the strengths that can be drawn on, from all concerned, to support a successful and sustainable working relationship with this community? ( 400 words)
Do I see this engagement with the community ideally being a short, medium or long term commitment in regards to the most equitable and sustainable options for successfully meeting community needs? (400 words)
