This module has outlined the great problems facing the world as it grapples with the serious issues of Sustainability and Climate Change. The statistics from each of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) are alarming, and stories from every corner of our civilisation are frightening.
But there are many projects underway which are making great progress in solving some of these problems. These projects do not always get the publicity they deserve – “Bad News Is Good News!”
For this assignment you should pick either one of the 17 SDGs, or a hybrid topic which embraces several SDGs (eg Food, Finance), and report on the progress that is being made in this area, and the hope and prospects for the future.
It is important that you concentrate on what is being done now, and what the future prospects are, and not on the issues that have caused the problem – other than to briefly set the context.
You should first construct a Research Question which defines your topic, and discuss this with your Course Tutor.
You should use a research Literature Review format for your report, as seen in many of the journal papers you have seen during the course. All statements must be supported by the source reference.
