Highlights
Course Overview
This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to develop secure software applications. Students will learn about software development, secure coding practices, and security testing. The focus of the course is on developing a research-based secure software project that leverages machine learning and other software technologies to improve security.
Objective
The objective of this assignment is to develop a research-based secure software project that leverages machine learning and other software technologies to improve security. Students will be required to write a research paper/patent, develop the software with the MVP (Minimal Viable Product) to sell in a software store, and conduct a secure audit using OWASP (or similar) framework.
The assignment will consist of three main components:
1. Research Paper: Students will be required to write a research paper that focuses on a specific aspect of secure software development. The paper should be between 10-15 pages in length and should follow a standard research paper format (i.e., abstract, introduction, literature review, methodology, results, discussion, and conclusion). The paper should be based on a real-world problem and should identify how machine learning and other software technologies can be used to solve the problem.
2. Software Development: Students will be required to develop a software application that leverages machine learning and other software technologies to improve security. The software should be developed using secure coding practices and should be based on the research paper. The software should be developed with the MVP (Minimal Viable Product) to sell in a software store.
3. Patent: Students will be required to write a patent application based on the research paper and the software developed. The patent should be written in a clear and concise manner, highlighting the unique features and advantages of the software.
4. Secure Audit: Students will be required to conduct a secure audit using the like OWASP framework. And others. The audit should identify any security vulnerabilities in the software and provide recommendations for addressing those vulnerabilities.
Conclusion: This assignment is designed to provide students with hands-on experience in developing secure software applications. By completing this assignment, students will be able to apply the concepts and skills learned in the course to a real-world problem.
