Assessment Task

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
This assessment is based on ACA Travel Agency and uses several customer scenarios to complete the 11 Tasks. 
You will have to respond to all the tasks by demonstrating your skills and knowledge within the assessment guidelines and requirements. In some tasks, there are templates and tables, which you will have to complete in order to ensure you demonstrate the skills and knowledge of the units.
To be deemed competent in this assessment each student must demonstrate through written responses and completion of templates, the knowledge and understanding of what actions are necessary to meet the requirements of the customer and business requirements.

Task 1 
The Rogers family has come into the ACA Travel agency wanting to book a family holiday to the Gold Coast, Queensland.
The passengers that are traveling are;
Mr. John Rogers, Mrs. Mary Rogers, Miss Sarah Rogers (aged 9) and Mstr Philip Rogers (aged 7). 
They would like to leave in two weeks from today and leave after 15:00 hrs and stay 7 nights.
Please organize the trip with everything that they will need for their holiday, which must include;
•Return airfare from Sydney
•Car Hire for duration of stay
•4-star accommodation in the center of the Gold Coast accommodation area
•At least 2 entertainment options for the children during the stay.
Requirement
a. You must print out a full quote for this holiday with all the details of the inclusions and individual costs. 
b.Set up customer profiles for the travelers using Mundus software. Screenshot of each profile to be provided.
c.You will receive a customer payment on the day, please state when you will pay each the individual supplier for this holiday for the Rogers family.

Task 2  
Mr & Mrs. South (both 45 years old) would like to go on a South Pacific cruise for 7 nights. They live in Brisbane and the ship departs from Sydney. They are Qantas and Royal Caribbean members and for their cruise, they would like a balcony cabin. The South will depart in November 201X. 
You will receive a customer credit card payment to ACA travel agency on the day they get the quote date for the return flights and one week after quote date by credit card charge form for the Cruise. 
Requirement
a. You must print out a full quote for this holiday with all the details of the inclusions and individual costs. Using the following websites; Qantas.com.au & royalcaribbean.com.au
b.Set up customer profiles for the travelers using Mundus software. Screenshot of each profile to be provided
c. State the dates when you will pay Royal Caribbean for this holiday and the amount of commission amount will the agency receive at its negotiated rate of 5%
d.After payment the South’s request a date change of departure to early December 201X for a similar (if not same length) cruise. Calculate the fare difference and also if a refund or additional payment (including fees) is due. Outline the new cruise number and what changes they would need to be notified of.

Task 3   
Mr. Jimmy Mansfield (21) and Ms. Elaine Swift (20) would like to go on a 20-day European tour that commences in July 201X. They will be departing from Sydney to London and you will need to make all the necessary arrangements for the couple.

Requirement
a. You must email a full quote to the customer with all the direct flights, 2 nights’ accommodation in London prior to the tour and tour details and 1-night accommodation prior to returning flight home
b. Include all Nett rates and commission totals Airfares at 5% and tour commission rate of 10% and hotel commission rate of 10%
c.Set up customer profiles
d.Screenshot of each profile to be provided
e. Print all required ticketing and tour summary information documentation that the couple will need.
f.Write a 300-400 words script on what you would need to discuss with your manager when you discover that there was a cost discrepancy in this booking.
