This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to manage the physical assets of an organisation. It requires the ability to establish systems and practices for asset monitoring, maintenance and acquisition.
It applies to senior managers who operate with significant autonomy and who are responsible for making a range of strategic management decisions.
The unit applies to all tourism, hospitality and event sectors.
 

ASSESSMENT 1

Written Responses and Project Report

The assessment comprises of two parts with written responses and a project report to be developed. These tasks are based on developing an acquisition, maintenance and replacement plan of different types of physical assets for the expansion and opening of a new branch of a restaurant café, which is provided within the e-learning for the student’s reference.

Students must respond to all the tasks by demonstrating their skills and knowledge within the assessment guidelines and requirements. In some tasks, there are templates and tables, which they will have to complete and submit in the appendix in order to ensure you demonstrate the skills and knowledge of the units.

To be deemed competent in this assessment each student must demonstrate through written reports and templates, the knowledge and understanding of current business practices for acquisition, maintenance and replacement plan of at least three different types of physical assets within the hospitality industry.

For the written responses part, students are required to do theory and knowledge based written task showing the students’ ability to do interpretation.

For the report, it should be based on individual new branch and be specific to that new branch. Students should use relevant material from the weekly topics as well as other resources such as e-learning articles and internet searches to support your ideas. 

The report assessment contains several tasks in which the responses need to be in relation to ACA Restaurant Cafe’ Business Plan which is provided in e-learning. They are to develop a list of physical resources required for the new business restaurant café’.

Students need to determine the requirements of reports and determine categories and logical sequences of data, information and knowledge to achieve document objectives. Ensure all documentation is in order.

The student should use relevant material from the weekly lectures as well as other resources such as e-learning contents, ACA Cafe Restaurant Business Plan and internet searches to support your ideas. 

Students are required to complete and submit to the trainer as per the due date mentioned in the assessment scheduled
