Assessment Tasks

Task 1 : Job analysis, a person specification & an advertisement is for the RM. This involves 3 parts: a) Write a job analysis for the position of restaurant manager b) Write a person specification/job description for the position of restaurant manager-remember this must clearly demonstrate an understanding of organisational roles and responsibilities c) Write an advertisement for the position of restaurant manager-remember you need to include a short (100-200 word) paragraph as to why you choose this type of advertisement

Task 2 : • Must prepare & conduct the role play. A selection interview for a position as a RM • Remember you need to conduct the role play-each student is to play the RM and the interviewer. • When your role play is completed, you must submit a written interview plan

Task 3 • Prepare an induction that is suitable for the applicant that you have chosen as a RM

Task 4 • Conduct a performance appraisal interview of a RM • Remember you need to conduct the role play-each student is to play the RM and the manager who conducts the performance appraisal • When you role play is completed, you must submit a written performance appraisal plan-this should include analysis of: a) the methods that you have used to provide feedback to the RM b) how you will follow up and evaluate c) how you have used employment records to construct a performance appraisal interview

Task 5 • 1.5 hour quiz that covers the areas that have not yet been assessed. That is topics 8-Monitoring & Giving Feedback, topic 9- Disciplinary Policy & Procedure, topic- 10-Reward & Recognition-40 marks-week 9
