Assessment details
Assessment 1: Weekly Quiz, each 10 questions,
The weekly quizzes are located in the weekly modules.
There are 12 assessed weekly quizzes accounting for 10% of your overall topic grade. The ten best scores out of the 12 quizzes count towards your topic grade. Each quiz consists of 10 multiple choice questions. Quizzes are based on the designated weekly reading and the relevant weekly lecture.
You will have one hour to complete each quiz. They are programmed with a trip timer of one hour - this means that once you access each weekly quiz you will have one hour to complete (note the average times are 5-12 minutes to complete each quiz). If you have not finished a quiz your completed answers will be submitted automatically.
You will need to log in one hour before each of the quizzes close to receive the full hour to complete each quiz.
Each quiz opens at 5pm on the Wednesday of the lecture and closes at 5pm on the following Monday.
Assessment 2: Literature Review,
The literature review will demonstrate your understanding of the different methods of searching, reviewing, and reporting literature. The literature review will synthesise and succinctly report themes and findings in current empirical research to then identify a practice need for research or evaluation.
The weekly lectures and tutorial tasks will explain in detail and build upon the requirements of this assignment.
The following informs your assignment structure, and the word counts below are provided as a guide:
The literature review is not an annotated bibliography or summary of each article (as per the skill you learned in the first weeks for how to read research). Rather the literature review is a further step that evaluates and compares the research articles (synthesises) and will give the reader of your review an overview of the current research evidence in relation to your specific social issue or service needs. Your review will be an inductive analysis of literature to identify themes or gaps in current research. Therefore, as per the learning on synthesising the literature, you will have several paragraphs that each identify a theme.
Assessment 3: Research Proposal:
This proposal for a program evaluation is not a regular research proposal format. Its purpose is for you to demonstrate applied knowledge of the topic content and integrate research methodology with social work knowledge, practice and values for program evaluations that inform development of responses and better outcomes for clients.
The weekly lectures and tutorial tasks will explain in detail and build upon the requirements of this assignment.
The following informs your assignment structure, and the word counts below are a guide. Please use headings.
The introduction includes your research question (one sentence), your research aims and your hypothetical scenario (type/size of agency and program service etc).
