Yet still, others argue that race is a factor in crime statistics with ethnic minority groups being unfairly targeted and labelled as ‘criminals’. What is clear then, is that there are various reasons for crime. For this assessment, choose a particular type of crime that is occurring in Australia and explain the possible causes and consequences of this type of crime. In your introduction, explain why this particular behavior is a ‘crime’ and not just deviant behavior. Towards the end of your discussion, make recommendations for how society can effectively deal with this kind of behavior. Use theory and current research to support your arguments.
