Step 1: The task
As an individual, you will construct a project that addresses the following questions:
•What are social determinants of health and how do they impact on the health of Indigenous Australians?
•How have historical and contemporary racial influences contributed to Indigenous Australian social determinants of health?
•Consider Indigenous Australian perspectives on health and well-being to reflect on how contemporary health practices can work towards taking these perspectives into account when delivering health services. Consider both individual and institutional/professional practices.
Step 2: Presentation 
You can choose to present your answers to the questions in any way you choose. Some examples include:
• A case study analysis
• A written proposal to a committee
• An instructional/informative video or podcast
• A professional practice document
• Presentation during Adobe Connect online chat session
• A pamphlet or brochure
Video or film project presentations should be no longer than 15 minutes. Written projects should be no more than 1500 words. Modules 1 - 2 are designed to prepare you for this assessment. These will be submitted via a Journal.
You must also provide a final transcript of the content of your project which should be uploaded into the Interact 2 site via a Journal. Your transcript must include citations and a reference list that conforms to APA (7th edition) referencing, including referencing any images, graphs, figures or tables.

This assessment task will assess the following learning outcome/s:
• Be able to investigate, compare and reflect on health practices and the social determinants of health for Indigenous Australians.
• Be able to critically examine how the invention of racial science influences historical and contemporary structures of Australian society and its health institutions.
• Be able to demonstrate an understanding of the significance of Indigenous Australian perspectives on health and wellbeing through reflection on contemporary Australian health practice and service delivery.
The task works towards the development of an understanding of how the use of technology can assist the professions.

You will write a personal reflection of 800 words that addresses the process of the group work project that was completed as Assessment item 2. Your reflection is a personal account of the process and will be marked individually. 
Part A - Individual group work reflection (300 words)
In your reflection, please address the following:
• The names of all members of your group, how you presented your project and why you chose to present your project that way.
• Your personal contribution to the project including a specific example of something that you feel other group members learned from you that they would not have otherwise learned. Your example must relate to the content you researched for your contribution and include references for this content.
• A specific example of something that you learned from others that you feel you would not have otherwise learned. Your example must relate to the content researched by one or more of your group peers and include references for this content.
• Suggest one change that your group could have made to improve your project.
• Explain how the use of technology can assist the professions. 
Part B - Individual standpoint reflection (500 words)
Reflect on how your standpoint influenced your understanding of Indigenous Australians’ perspectives of health and well-being while undertaking your research. Consider both individual and institutional cultural biases. You might like to return to Module 1, Topic 1 to prompt you.
