Step 1: Identify a life crisis event you have experienced in a clinical practicum. Your reflected event should be introduced using Kanel's (2015, p. 3) four components to a crisis: 

1. a precipitating event occurs;

2. the person has a perception of the event as threatening or damaging;

3. this perception leads to emotional distress; and

4. the emotional distress leads to impairment in functioning due to failure of an individual's usual coping methods that previously prevented the crisis from occurring. 

Step 2: Identify two social justice principles- 1) equity, 2) access, 3) participation, and 4) rights- that apply to your selected event. Your chosen social justice principles are the focus of this assessment task. 

Part 2: Citations and annotations (1500 words) You will now explore the literature for your two chosen social justice principles to further your understanding of how these principles impact caring in a life crisis context. 

You will choose 10 peer reviewed journal articles published within the last 10 years. Each article must relate to a social justice principle/s you have identified for the life crisis event above. 

For each of your chosen articles: 

1. First type the full citation (use the Harvard reference style). The citations do not count in your overall word count.

2. Identify the related social justice principle that the article discusses/explores.

3. Complete the annotation for your article (100 words). The annotation will use a peer reviewed journal article to provide an informed perspective about a social justice principle.
