You may wish to refer back to Question 5 or 6 in Assignment 1 and/or Assignment 2 and use the same topic if there are enough available studies on that topic. In this assessment only the health condition OR the treatment method needs to be the same across the studies (e.g., all studies relate to acupuncture, or all studies relate to depression).

1. Find and reference 3 research articles dealing with that topic. You should identify articles that investigate issues such as attitudes towards the treatment and reasons for choosing it. (Note: Qualitative research does not usually investigate effectiveness of treatment). The three must all be qualitative research articles, and at least two of them must be primary research articles. The third can be either primary or secondary. Two of the primary research articles must use different methods (e.g., one is an interview study and the other is a case study). (Note: References not counted in word count).

2. Contrast the articles on the differences in methods. To contrast means to highlight and explain the differences between the methods. This requires you to go beyond providing a description of each method, and instead to discuss in detail the ways they differ. 

3. Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the articles in terms of their research design: sampling, data collection and analysis, and study recency). Be sure to make reference to reliability and validity, but you will need to be aware that qualitative research uses different methods to assess validity than quantitative research and make reference to them appropriately. 

4. Give a brief interpretation of the findings of each research study, including clinical relevance.
