INTRODUCTION

The goal of this paper is to relate and theorize symbolic interactionism with the current pandemic which has taken place in our respective country. The paper will further discuss how does social interaction, meanings, symbols and interpretations contribute to social order in South Africa as a result of the Covid-19. The common cause of finding a solution to COVID-19 has brought together individuals, institutions, communities, governments and society at large.  Looking at such collaborative initiatives, I get a sense of optimism, since my conviction is that the advanced knowledge of technology and ingenuity will help the global population to fight and defeat this viral attack. One may argue that it may take some time before an antidote is found; meanwhile, alternative systems and approaches can be developed, that will not only help manage the current crisis but also create new ways of doing business in future. 

BACKGROUND AND ORIENTATION OF THE PHENOMENON(Covid-19).

COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by the novel coronavirus. On 31 December 2019, a cluster of pneumonia cases of unknown aetiology was reported in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. On 9 January 2020, China CDC reported a novel coronavirus as the causative agent of this outbreak, coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Corona virus are huge kin of viruses that causes infection ranging from the frequent cold further ruthless disease such as Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). DEFINITION OF CONCEPTS
