1. Describe the location of the paddock and provide background information such as the climate, paddock history and the crop/pasture, which will be grown next season 

2. Research the physical and chemical requirements for the crop/pasture that will be grown 

3. Describe the sampling procedure that you used, and include a paddock map indicating the main features and the sampling pattern that you used. Your pattern must produce a sample that is representative of the soil type/landform/land used. Explain how your pattern produces this representative sample. 

4. Determine the texture and colour of the soil, test the soil structure, and measure the soil pH and electrical conductivity. (Present this data/information in a form that can be easily understood) 

5. Determine the health of the soil using other indicators including ground cover, bulk density, and water infiltration, diversity of soil life, root development and aggregate stability. 

6. Select a representative site in the paddock (this is a show with the Horizons A, B & C). Describe the soil profile 

7. For each of Horizon down the profile, conduct the same test described in Q4. (Present this data/information in a form that can be easily understood). 

8. Comment on the health of the soil and the suitability of this paddock for the crop/pasture intended.
