1. he U.S. Census Bureau has created a weekly survey to “quickly and efficiently deploy data collected on how people’s lives have been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.” The re- sults are presented weekly (e.g., week 22 represents January 6-18). Conduct three, two-group hypothesis tests on whether getting the vaccine depends on (1) gender, (2) race, and (3) education. Note that for race and education, there are more than two groups. Determine an appropriate aggregation before you run the hypothesis test.
2. An O’Neill professor would like to know if the GPA in her class depends on class size. The data is contained in (mpaclass). Run a simple linear regression model with gpa as the dependent variable and classsize as the independent variable. Interpret all the results. Include a graph which shows the scatter plot and the regression line.

4. The data indyhomes contains home values of two ZIP codes in Indianapolis. In this exercise, you will estimate the value of homes (dependent variable) based on a set of independent variables.
(a) Create a dummy variable called northwest for the 46268 ZIP code.
(b) Report the results of the following regression equation
price = β0 + β1 · sq f t + β2 · northwest
(c) Interpret each coefficient from the previous part and how it affects price.
(d) What is the expected home value of a house in the 46228 ZIP code and with 2300 sqft.
5. The following question is based on the article Black Lives Matter: Evidence that Police- Caused Deaths Predict Protest Activity. Note that we use a simplified version of the data set for this question. We will come back to the data later in the semester. The dependent variable for this exercise is protest frequency (tot.protests) and the independent variables are city population (T otalPop), population density (pop.density), percent black (Per Black), black poverty rate (BlackPovertyRate), percent of population with at least a bachelor (perba), college enrollment (collegeenrollpc), share of democrats (dem share), and Black police- caused deaths per 10,000 people (deathsblackpc). Interpret the output.
