Highlights
This first lecture in Topic 4 evaluates the difference between ideas and opportunities when it comes to entrepreneurship. It determines that a successful entrepreneur is someone who validates their ideas in order for them to become opportunities. It conveys that the need for a product or service is extremely important before an entrepreneur goes ahead and invents or produces it. It then determines how the best ideas are ones that solve problems and considers the two types of start-ups that could be based around problems: those based on a problem you have experienced personally, and those based on a problem you think others may face. It then presents a framework to assess whether new venture ideas are feasible and worth pursuing
