1- Prepare for a data collection as below:
Each of the group members, unwrap 3 packs of 45g of ‘skittles original fruity candy’

ii. Count the pieces of candy in each pack.
iii. Count the number of candy with the same colour in each pack.
iv. Let be the number of red candy in each pack. Count the number of RED candy in each pack
v. Record the data obtained as in TABLE 1, TABLE 2 AND TABLE 3 below

2. Construct a probability distribution table based on TABLE 1 and use it to answer the following questions.

i. What is the probability that a randomly selected candy is green OR purple?

ii. What is the probability that a randomly selected candy is red AND comes from the packs that were unwrapped by group member no. 3?

iii. What is the probability a randomly selected candy is purple OR comes from the packs that were unwrapped by group member no. 1?

iv. Let R be the event of selecting purple candy and let W be the event of selecting candy from group member no. 2.
a) Are these two events mutually exclusive events? Prove it.

b) Are these two events independent events? Prove it.

3. Based on TABLE 2, construct a probability distribution table. Thus, answer the following questions.

i. What is the probability that a randomly selected candy is yellow?

ii. What is the probability that 3 randomly selected candy (taken with replacement) consists of 2 purple and 1 green?

iii. Two candies were selected at random without replacement. a) Draw a tree diagram for the above situation

b) What is the probability that the selected candies contain no yellow or red colour?

c) What is the probability 2 randomly selected candy is a combination of green AND yellow OR red and orange?

d) What is the probability that the first candy is orange GIVEN that the second candy is purple?
