TASK: Tasks – There are two tasks for this assignment: 1) The Computing Department at UCBC requires an extension of their current network in UC224 to further rooms within the School Of Health Science and Technology (UC225, UC226, UC223 & UC234). As the Network Technician for the school, you are to design the extension of the proposed network to the required rooms. Each room has its own network which will assign Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for the network via the Dynamic Host Control Protocol (DHCP) utilizing an appropriate IP addressing scheme. Any wireless networks should have a limited impact on the current wireless networks maintained by the college (BBCOL etc...) As part of the restructure the Computing lecturers also require access to the network from their staff offices, however, network cables or extra connections cannot be connected to the staff offices at this time so you are to devise an alternative approach of making the required connection. There is a requirement for a central print resource which will require management via a separate network through a print server. Internet connectivity is available via the college gateway via the IP address 192.168.0.253 and this should be present in your documentation along with any addressing schemes. All Laptop computers should connect to the proposed network wirelessly and reside upon a separate network therefore not dependent upon their location ie: classrooms. Task 2 You are to advise the college on the viability for mobile users using 3G/4G networks to connect remotely to the college network and discuss some of the issues with this type of technology when used with mobile or satellite networks in relation to current mobile speeds and reliability.
