 1. Strategic Analysis Report

NOTE

When addressing the following questions, you are advised to assess the company’s CURRENT situation, focussing on key, CURRENT external and internal factors related to the company.

Questions

1. Using PESTLE and 5 Forces frameworks, analyse how the key external drivers of change affect your chosen company.

2. Using Resources and Value Chain Frameworks, analyse how your chosen company adds value (or not) to its strategic position.

3. From the analysis carried out, comment on the Strategic Position of your company (is the company in a strong or weak position and why?).

2. Summary Poster

The second part of this assessment (also to be submitted via Turnitin on the date specified above) is a summary poster, outlining key elements of your report and its findings, including:

• Summary of the organisation you have chosen for your analysis, background and industry it operates within;
• Summary of the KEY POINTS FROM THE EXTERNAL ANALYSIS CARRIED OUT;
• Summary of the KEY POINTS FROM THE INTERNAL ANALYSIS CARRIED OUT;
• Any recommendations you may have for the company, based on the analysis.

The poster should be one page and include key information (see Poster Advice within the Learning Materials on the Blackboard site). The easiest way to construct a poster is to use 1 PowerPoint slide and save as a PDF.

The Poster Summary should be a SUMMARY of key points with recommendations for the company. It should not simply repeat your whole report! It should also be visual so should contain images, pictures, tables or diagrams.
