Introduction: Explain your motivation for pursuing this topic. What are the most important issues related to the topic? Which of these have been addressed previously in other studies that you have come across in your research? What are you planning to address?
Questions: What is the central question you are addressing? Students would have spent considerable time and would have had many discussions with instructors to finalize their question. Describe your question clearly and precisely. Also, say how this can be addressed using data.
Methodology: Describe the statistical tools you will use to address the question posed in the previous section. Discuss the assumptions you are making. The suitability of your method and the possible pitfalls.
Data: Describe your data source. Explain which variables you are using. What are the definitions of your variables. If you have collected data using a survey, attach the questionnaire in an appendix. Present summary statistics and descriptive charts and graphs.
Analysis: Present the data analysis. Explain and interpret your results.
Conclusion: Given your results, what is your conclusion regarding the question you posed? Any limitations to the study you can point out. Apart from the expected results do you obtain any counter-intuitive results? Think if the counter-intuitive results add any value or contribution to your analysis. Talk about the relevance of your results for businesses, policy-makers or individuals.
