Role Play:
Completion of this task will enable you to demonstrate your ability to use individualised plans as the basis for the support of 3 individuals and your knowledge of:
Rationale and processes underpinning individualised support planning and delivery
Roles and responsibilities of different people and the communication between them
Service delivery models in the relevant sector
Legal and ethical requirements and how these are applied in an organisation and individual practice
Factors that affect people requiring support
Practices that support skill maintenance and development
Indicators of unmet needs and ways of responding
Risk management considerations and ways to respond to identified risks.
This Skills and Knowledge Activity requires you to undertake three different roleplays in a simulated work environment, either in class or recorded for online students. Your instructor will observe you working with three clients and assess your ability to provide support based on each client’s Individual Support Plans.
You should show that you can:
Determine the individuals’ support needs
Provide the appropriate support services
Monitor these support services
Complete the necessary reporting and documentation.
Each role-plays should be between 5-15 minutes in length, use information in the clients Individual Support Plan and focus on goals highlighted below.
Role Play 1 – Steven:
Review Steven’s Individual Support Plan and conduct a role-play which demonstrates your skills and abilities in relation to working with Steven around Goal 4.
Role Play 2 – Harry:
Review Harry’s Individual Support Plan and conduct a role-play which demonstrates your skills and abilities in relation to working with Harry around Goal 2.
Role Play 2 – Richard:
Review Richard’s Individual Support Plan and conduct a role-play which demonstrates your skills and abilities in relation to working with Richard around Goal 1 & 3.

This activity should be completed either with a partner or your trainer if being completed in Class, or with a suitable partner, in a simulated workplace, for online students.
