Topic: To study the acceptance of telemedicine and preference of modalities by healthcare providers and patients. The study shall deal with the factors thereof and its influence on the suitability of telehealth as a mode of healthcare delivery.

Background: Telemedicine began to see an increase in usage throughout the U.S. after the pandemic as a means to cover the gaps in services that could not be provided through traditional healthcare means. However, this emerging technology goes beyond filling a gap and offers a more convenient and cost-effective alternative for people to receive health care without leaving their homes. The increase in acceptance and suitability can provide a solution required to meet the health care needs of people.

Method: To establish a model for determining the suitability and acceptance of a real-time telemedicine, structural equation modelling (SEM) technique is used. This method is hypothesized in advance. The variables and factors that shall be used to build the model will be from medical surveys from patients and healthcare providers and any other relevant statistical data available.

Data: In order to examine telemedicine as an acceptable mode of healthcare delivery we shall study various factors and categories in the healthcare arena. Some of the factors may include;
patient characteristics;
health condition;
type/purpose of consultation,
clinical data acquisition,
cost analysis,
performance expectancy,
social influence and
information security.
