In this task you are required to describe and compare various systems and application types. Newman Business Limited is a design company that is starting a new branch of its office in Auckland city. There are ten employees in this new office. Each employee has a stand-alone computer system and a shared printer. Now the company wants you to network these computers.
1. Write down 5 questions that you need to ask yourself before proposing a suitable network for Newman Business Limited’s new office branch. Now answer your 5 questions briefly.
2. Being a network expert you have indicated that either peer-to-peer or client-server network will be a more efficient choice for this new office. Justify why you have chosen one particular system compared with the other system. List and explain three advantages that the office will gain from the selected system.
3. List all the major computer components required in the standalone computers. Briefly describe these computer components.
4. What additional hardware would be needed to connect these standalone computers in the selected system? List all the equipment required and justify why each component of this equipment is required.
5. Use Gantt chart to create a plan for implementation of this network. Your chart must include the tasks (activities, resources required, and the time required for implementing each activity). You can use MS project or MS Excel or Project Libre as a project management tool. Print the Gantt chart in the landscape layout.
