This task provides students with a hypothetical scenario to which they have to respond quickly and thoughtfully to en sure the best health outcomes for those concerned by writing a disaster response plan. Students will be provided their disaster scenario on vUWS and must sign-up for the disaster of their choosing by no later than Week 6. Sign-ups are available on vUWS and have a limited number of positions for each disaster scenario. Once all positions for a scenario are filled, no additional students will be permitted to sign-up for that scenario. There will be no exceptions to this rule. Do 

NOT sign-up for more than one scenario. This prevents other students from being able to self-allocate to a sce nario. If you do this in error, please email the Unit Coordinator immediately to correct the error. There will be no changing of scenarios after Week 6. 

A comprehensive disaster response plan should: 

• Provide a critical analysis of the disaster even 
• Identify all relevant stakeholders with a detailed description of their ole within the disaster response plan – Provide for appropriate management of resources 
• Consider factors that may impact the disaster response plan including, but not limited to, vulnerable groups, animal welfare and environmental factors 
• Provide a plan for managing the psychological stressors of a disaster event for those affected, including any response personnel 
•  Provide evidence from scholarly resources to support all areas of the disaster response plan to ensure the response strategy is in accordance with best practice approaches.
