1. Assessment Detail

Students are required to design a short survey on a current issue that interests them. The survey should include relevant demographic questions and at least 3 different types of questions using different formats (Multiple choice questions, Rating scale questions, Likert scale questions, Dropdown questions, Open-ended questions, Ranking questions). Students should then administer the survey to their contacts, fellow students and educator (minimum 10 responses). Students are required to analyse the survey data using descriptive statistics and write a 1,500-word summary of the background to the survey and its results. Students should also prepare an infographic that summarises the data.

Note: While ChatGPT or other AI tools are permissible for study purposes and to enhance your understanding of the subject, it is important to note that no AI-generated materials, including copied and edited text, are allowed in the final submission. 2. Ethics and Research Design

There are a number of ethical concerns that researchers must address when conducting research involving human subjects. In an 8 to 10 minute presentation and/or video, students are required to:

• identify why ethics plays such a crucial role in any research project;
• to engage with relevant literature to identify how ethical considerations inform research design; and
• identify ways in which researchers can mitigate ethical concerns when conducting research with human subjects.
